There are not a lot of Podopediatric textbooks on the market as it is not a very popular field in Podiatry. Most of the textbooks available tend to be outdated. Below I have listed what I believe are the best podopediatric foot and ankle textbooks on the market:
Pediatric Foot Deformities an Issue of Foot and Ankle Clinics– This is not a textbook exactly. It is a series of article review pieces on podopediatric topics. However, it is relatively current, having been published in 2013. It will lack if you are just beginning podopediatrics and are looking for a good textbook to begin your exploration of the topic. However, if you are about to begin residency or consider yourself an expert on the topic this textbook can be worth it.
Drennan’s The Child’s Foot and Ankle– This is considered one of the more definitive texts on foot and ankle. It does not have an emphasis on surgery and the pictures are not great. But by and large this is an effective textbook. Especially, if you are just being introduced to podopediatrics or just started taking a course. The textbook was published in 2009.
Principles and Management of Pediatric Foot and Ankle Deformities and Malfromations– This book, published in 2014, is the best surgical podopediatric textbook published in the last decade, with superior pictures and graphics. This textbook is a must have for someone interested in foot and ankle surgery on kids.
